I’m Chris, and my service dog in training, Sasha, is quite remarkable. Born on July 4, 2021, I adopted her from a shelter on October 30, 2021. She’s a beautiful mix of Great Pyrenees, Yellow Lab, and American Staffordshire Terrier, mostly white in color, which means she often needs a bath after rolling in the dirt!
Sasha is stepping in for my previous service dog, Bailie, who was with me for 11 1/2 years before sadly passing away from cancer. At home, Sasha loves to play ball outside and enjoys her stuffed toys inside. She has a cute habit of taking over the bed and couches, laying belly up, and making herself at home.
I’m proud to say that Sasha has earned her AKC Canine Good Citizen and Canine Good Citizen Urban titles and is registered with the AKC as an All American Dog. This is a big deal because it shows her excellent behavior and training.
Her service dog training is almost complete. She’s doing great, but she gets a bit excited when she sees other dogs in public. This started after a scary encounter with an unruly dog during her early training. We’re working on this, and she’s getting better every day. Other than that, she’s amazing with her public access skills. Sasha is not just a dog; she’s a vital part of my life, helping me navigate each day with joy and support.
